PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - The Paragould School District is taking advantage of National Bus Safety Week, Oct. 19-23, to educate their students on the subject.
The district's transportation experts are spending the week visiting students at the elementary schools.
They're going over what to do and not to do in a bus and what to do in case of an emergency.
"We want to make sure they're safe," Principal Jerry Dickson said. "So, we do go through a practice evacuation with the students during this training. The bus drivers also do those throughout the year to let them know to practice a rear evacuation of the bus."
They also went over how to evacuate from the side and top of the bus.
The training was at Woodrow Wilson Elementary Wednesday afternoon.
They will be at the Paragould Primary School on Thursday.
