Motorcyclist killed in Jonesboro crash

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro man involved in a motorcycle crash has died.

Michael W. Barton, 35, was killed following the crash on Oct. 22, according to Arkansas State Police.

Barton had been airlifted to Regional One in Memphis after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his motorcycle. Police state he died at the hospital on Oct. 24.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department, Barton was headed east on Parker Road when he was hit and thrown from his motorcycle.

The crash report from Jonesboro police states Tom Gross attempted to turn west on Parker Road from Industrial Drive when the front bumper of his car hit Barton's motorcycle. Gross reportedly failed to yield at a stop sign.

Gross was taken to St. Bernards in Jonesboro and later released.
