CHEROKEE VILLAGE, AR (KAIT) - Police are investigating after a body was found in Cherokee Village.

The Cherokee Village Police Department issued a news release Friday stating they were called to Highway 175 near the Sharp/Fulton County line just after 5 a.m. on Wednesday.

An individual reported that while driving west on Highway 175 they had to swerve into the other lane to avoid something in the road, which they believed to be person.

When an officer and emergency responders arrived on scene, they found the body of Jack Culbreath Jr., 34, according to the news release.

The body has been taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine cause of death.

Cherokee Village police state they are not speculating on the incident until more information can be confirmed.

Arkansas State Police have been contacted to assist in the investigation.
