BRTC helps veterans find resources after serving our country

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

Black River Technical College in Paragould hosted a fair to help veterans get back on their feet.

Veteran resource groups from Arkansas, Tennessee and Missouri helped make the event possible.

The college had 56 booths set up for veterans to learn about different job opportunities, health and medical benefits and even crafts to learn.

Priscilla Stillwell, BRTC-Paragould academic site coordinator, said the fair is a chance to show veterans their possible resources after serving the country.

“When they go to battle they have this idea of no man left behind but when they get back here they won't take care of each other by finding out the information,” Stillwell said. “We want them here, they need the information and if they will come we will do everything we can to help them.”

Stillwell said the college hopes to make this an annual event.
