The exact number of injured ranged from as many as four players reported by Arkansas State Police to 10 players and two coaches reported by Lakeside Superintendent Shawn Cook.

State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said none of the injuries are reported as life-threatening. Sadler said the crash occurred about 3:45 p.m. Friday on U.S. Highway 70 near the Newhope community, about 60 miles west of Lakeside High School in Hot Springs and about 35 miles east of DeQueen.
