JPD investigates cars broken into at at Craighead Forest Park

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police are investigating after they received two separate reports of breaking and entering at Craighead Forest Park early Saturday morning.

One woman called police after she noticed many of her personal items scattered throughout her car at around 6 a.m. Saturday.

When JPD arrived, the woman's husband noticed that his car had been ransacked too.

There was no damage to her car, but the woman did report several missing items including credit cards, a cell phone and a portable DVD player.

Later Saturday evening, an officer responded to a call about an abandoned truck on a bike path in the park.

When the owner was located and arrived to get his truck, he told the officer that he'd left his truck in front of his camper, not on the path.

He noticed that items in his truck were scattered.

He told police his brother's truck had been broken into also, according to the police report.

That man reported several items missing including rifles, pistols and ammunition.

None of the four vehicles showed evidence of forced entry.
