SEARCY, AR (KAIT) -

A missing man from Searcy is safe after police say his vehicle got stuck in a field and his phone was out of service.

Sgt. Steve Hernandez, public information officer for the Searcy Police Department said on Friday Carl Cobb was found "safe and healthy." He had been reported missing on Thursday by his family.

Hernandez states Cobb ended up on Jackson County Road 182. His car had gotten stuck in a field and the vehicle's battery died.

The man also had no cell phone service so he shut off the phone to go somewhere with service to call again.

After spending the night in his car, Cobb was able to call his sister who contacted police.

Officers with Searcy police and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office then found Cobb.
