BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - While the holidays are still several weeks away, one Region 8 charity is already making plans to help feed the needy.
Now through the New Year, the Blytheville-Gosnell Area Food Pantry is collecting food for the holidays.
Among the items needed are stuffing mix, cornbread mix, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and instant mashed potatoes.
In addition to the holiday-flavored goodies, the pantry also welcomes other nonperishable food items; including rice, soups, ramen noodles, and canned meats and vegetables.
Knowing that it takes more than just a meal to make it the holidays, the pantry asks the community to consider donating items that could brighten a child's Christmas. Stocking stuffers like caps, scarves and gloves would be appreciated. Even candy canes.
For more information on how to make a donation, contact the pantry at (870) 762-9999.
