Animal Control finds home for snakes

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro Animal Control recently adopted out some of their more uncommon pets.

They posted on Facebook Wednesday there was six boas and pythons that needed a good home.

Just a few hours after their post went out on Facebook, someone showed up to get the snakes.

"A college professor at ASU that actually does their biology," Officer Mike Owens with Jonesboro Animal Control said. "He and one of his graduate assistants came and got all six of them, which is awesome. I was so excited."

Officer Owens said they normally keep a snake around six months after rescuing it to determine its temperament and if it will make a good pet before they try adopt it out.
