Arkansas Hospice needs volunteers for Region 8

BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

Arkansas Hospice needs volunteers for three Region 8 counties.

Arkansas Hospice serves more than 500 people every day, but patients in Independence, Jackson and White Counties could use more volunteers.

Hospice has seen an influx of patients according to volunteer coordinator Nichole Bryant.

They are now asking people to help so their patients can receive extra care and love they need, in addition to the current attentive staff.

Bryant said hospice is more than just an end of life stop; it is a chance for these people to tell their stories and know someone cares.

“It also gives us the opportunity to give back, so that is the most important thing is to give back to these people who need us so much at this time,” Bryant said.

Hospice serves patients in several areas including hospitals, assisted living and independent living facilities.

Volunteer opportunities can be found at the hospice website.
