Southside students have priority in new health clinic

SOUTHSIDE, AR (KAIT) - A new health care clinic in Southside will make students and school faculty first priority.

The Southside School District recently received a $500,000 grant to build the clinic, which will be run by ARcare.

The clinic is located in front of the elementary school, off of Highway 167.

When a student is sick, they can come in through a side door and they will be seen before other patients.

"It is for students first and our faculty and staff, and then it takes care of the community as well," Southside Superintendent Roger Rich said.

Rich said the idea behind the clinic to get students and teachers back in school as quickly as possible.

The clinic will have a total of 9 exams rooms.

Rich said he hopes the clinic will be open in mid-December.
