Paragould frozen custard shop brings back "Ounces for A's" program

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

It pays to be smart at one Paragould frozen custard shop.

For the second year in a row, Swirlz Frozen Treats and Coffee in Paragould is treating students with good grades to free ice cream.

The program is called Ounces for A's and any student in the Region 8 area is eligible.

Swirlz owner Rick Nunn said this program is about one thing: treating the kids.

"The teachers use it as incentive. We've seen them come in and one time they'll have three A's, the next time they'll want five. It's a good treat for them and it's a reward," Nunn said. "We'll probably hit over 1,000 kids this 9 weeks and we would love for every kid in Northeast Arkansas to bring it in."
If your school doesn't hand out Ounces for A's coupons, Nunn said all you have to do is bring in your report card.

Swirlz offers free ounces for up to five A's.
