Jonesboro native Cook T42 after one round at Sanderson Farms Championship

JACKSON, MS (KAIT) - Jonesboro native Austin Cook had a solid first day at the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi on Thursday. The Former Razorback and Hurricane shot a three under 69 to hold a slot tied for 42nd.

Cook will tee off at 7:53 am on the first hole on Friday and is in a solid position to make the weekend field.

He earned his spot in the tournament by winning a three-for-two playoff in the Monday qualifier after hitting 17 straight greens after missing the first. Cook is in quest of his PGA Tour Card, something he could earn by playing a full season on the Tour or by finishing in the Top 25 in the standings of the Tour.
