Police investigating two cases of counterfeit money

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police are investigating two incidents of someone using counterfeit money this weekend.

Officers were called to Harp's Food Store, 2005 Harrisburg Road, around 8:40 a.m. Saturday in reference to counterfeit money.

A manager told police that his customer service manager had found two fake $10 bills in a register.

Using a log of all the transactions, the manager pulled up security video to look at all payments of at least $10.

He only found one transaction where a person passed two $10 bills.

According to the Jonesboro police report, the security footage shows a very clear picture of a black man who is about 6 feet tall and wearing a black leather hat and a black jacket.

Police were then dispatched to KFC and Taco Bell, 133 Southwest Drive, around 9:21 a.m. Saturday for a counterfeit $20 bill.

The bill was found Friday night between 8:30 and 9 p.m.

The employee who found the money did not know who gave it to him.

There are no suspects in either incident.
