JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Despite rumors to the contrary, the price of Do-Si-Dos and Thin Mints in Region 8 will not be increasing.

The Girl Scouts-Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas announced Monday it will not increase cookie prices in the coming year.

The price will remain at $4 a box; except for gluten-free Toffee-tastic which will remain at $5.

Each of the 112 Girl Scout councils in the United States determines the price of the cookies.

While prices in Region 8 will remain the same, that is not the case in the rest of the country.

According to Forbes magazine, the price of Girl Scout cookies in Massachusetts and California will increase 25 percent to $5 each.

On average, the Girl Scouts sell about 200 million boxes of cookies each year.
