Man resists arrest after assaulting woman

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT) - Police arrested a Caruthersville man early Monday morning after a woman claimed he assaulted her.

Caruthersville officers responded to the 400-block of Franklin Avenue around 2:45 a.m. Monday in reference to a woman with a head injury.

According to a news release, the woman told police Ricky Hollywood hit her in the head with a bottle.

Officers found Hollywood at a house in the 200-block of East 9th Street.

The release states that Hollywood began to resist while officers were escorting him to a patrol vehicle.

He attempted to head-butt an officer several times and spat in his face.

Hollywood then bit the officer's right index finger.

Officers took Hollywood to the Pemiscot County Jail and charged him with 2 counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

He is being held at the jail pending a warrant.
