PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - One of the top softball players in the state signed her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, inking with the Missouri Tigers.
Paragould High School's Braxton Burnside put pen to paper to commit to the program that went 41-17 last season and has been known as one of the better softball programs at the NCAA Division 1 level. "I took my unofficial visit in October and I loved everything about it," said Burnside, "The campus, the coaches, the softball program, everything's great."
She'll play under Tigers' Head Coach Ehren Earleywine when she heads to Mizzou next year. "I'm really excited to go there, play for coach E and I think it's going to be a lot of fun."
The signing ceremony was held in the lounge at Paragould High School, Burnside wrote her name on the line surrounded by her supporters. "I'm glad that this day has finally come," she said, "After all the hard work I've put in, this is really exciting to get to be here with family and friends and experience it."
Burnside is a multiple sport athlete at Paragould, standing out in volleyball also. She won the MVP trophy at the 2014 State Volleyball Championship, where Burnside helped lead the Rams to a five set victory over Valley View.
