JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

An unmistakable tower on the campus of Arkansas State University was used as a beacon for hope and support of military veterans.

On Veterans Day A-State lit the Dean B. Ellis Library tower green to honor all veterans.

A video showing the lighting was uploaded to Vimeo by A-State. It features Arkansas State University Cadet Joshua Coggins of the Red Wolf ROTC Battalion playing "Taps".

You may be seeing more green lights around town as a way to "Greenlight a Vet."

The campaign is a way to "establish visible national support for our veterans by changing one light to green," according to GreenlightaVet.com.

It's no secret rural Arkansas is struggling. From schools closing to infrastructure to population, many towns can’t stay afloat.
