Jonesboro man arrested after stealing from auto shop

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A man who said he was trying to spy on his girlfriend from a local auto body shop was arrested on multiple charges Saturday.

William Stites, 48 of Jonesboro was caught stealing from the 401 Auto Sales shop on Johnson shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday, according to Jonesboro police.

A report stated that officers found copper wire in Stites’s truck that belonged to the auto body shop.

Stites also had four pocket knives, a dagger, and a machete in his possession.

According to the report, officers found a pipe with  residue on the inside and a bag of what appeared to be methamphetamine in Stites’s vehicle.

He is charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, criminal trespassing and violating his parole.   

Stites is expected to appear in court on Monday
