POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) - Police arrested a Poplar Bluff man Monday on several charges including kidnapping and rape.
Officers with the Poplar Bluff Police Department were dispatched to the 600-block of Cleveland Street in reference to the kidnapping of a woman.
The Major Case Squad was then activated and investigators with the PBPD, Butler County Sheriff's Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and the FBI responded.
Doyle Turner, 44, was developed as a person of interest in the case.
Investigators responded to the 100-block of West Harper Street in an effort to locate Turner or the victim.
Turner and the woman were both found in a shed behind the house.
Deputy Brandon Waggoner and Investigator Wes Popp rescued the woman and took Turner into custody without incident.
Turner was taken to the Butler County Jail.
He is charged with kidnapping, forcible rape, forcible sodomy, armed criminal action, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of an illegal weapon and first-degree burglary.
Poplar Bluff Police Department Chief Jeff Rolland said in a news release that he would like to thank the sheriff's office, Missouri State Highway Patrol and the FBI for the quick response.
