A group of A-State students recently decided they wanted to help feed the needy in our area.
Members of the Graduate Student Council got together and discussed what they could do to make an impact in the community.
They've been collecting non-perishable food items for the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas for the past two weeks.
President Justin Carothers said it feels great to help others.
“I'm really grateful and blessed to be in this position where I can help so many people this year,” Carothers said. “And I just hope that not only do we help Food Bank of NEA, but get the word out on campus as far as students because I think the student body is a very giving body.”
Carothers said they'll be waiting until the last minute to gather what they've collected in case there are any last minute donations.
Then they'll stop by Kroger Thursday to help "Fill the Food Bank.”
