Police searching for not-so-divine burglars

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Thieves were far from “divine” when they broke into a thrift shop Sunday.

The burglary happened around 2:30 p.m. at the Divine Wisdom Thrift Shop, 3503 E. Nettleton Ave.

An employee told officers he dropped off items at the store around 1 p.m. that same day.

A short time later, he arrived back and saw the shattered window which is how police say the suspect entered the store.

According to the report, the crook stole 2 Hewlett-Packard desktop computers.

Larry Brantley is a business owner across the street. He was alarmed to hear the news.

“It's kind of scary having a business across the street from something like that, that happened,” Brantley said. “It definitely makes you be more aware of your surroundings.”

The report stated footprints were found leading from the window to a trailer park behind the store.

Police followed the tracks and attempted to make contact with a resident, but did not get an answer.

If anyone has information on this crime, contact the Jonesboro Police Department or Crimestoppers at 935-STOP (7867).
