JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

The family of a boy who died from an accident in Jonesboro has set up a fund for funeral expenses.

Twelve-year-old Garrin Fair was confirmed by family members to be the person who was fatally struck on Monday evening along Dan Ave.

GoFundMe account - Mom Mandi, and GoFundMe account - Dad Brandon, have been set up to help with funeral expenses.

Fair was a student at Westside and his family says he was a fun-loving and great child.

Westside Superintendent Bryan Duffie said the school had extra counselors from Mid-South Health on hand Tuesday for students and faculty.

Duffie said many students found ways to let the family know Fair's classmates were thinking of them.

"They were grouping together and making cards and writing letters to the family to express their feelings and their sympathy," Duffie said.

Fair was a Westside football player as well. Duffie said the team huddled together Tuesday morning to remember their beloved teammate.

Westside will continue to have counselors on hand even after Thanksgiving break for any student or faculty member that needs to talk.

Other school districts in the county have also offered their support to Westside according to Duffie.
