JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Police say a tip to Crimestoppers led to the arrest of two men in connection with the theft of a trailer a Jonesboro store.

Derek Gould, 32, and Ross Taylor, 30, both of Jonesboro are charged with felony theft of property greater than $5,000; tampering with physical evidence; criminal mischief; and breaking or entering.

According to a news release from the Jonesboro Police Department, the two are suspected of stealing a trailer from Hays Clothing Store, 2215 E. Highland, this past weekend.

At the time of their arrests, officers recovered the trailer and a substantial number of tools belonging to a contractor who was working on the renovation of the former Coca-Cola bottling building in advance of the store's opening.

Detective Mike McCanless said the trailer had been spray-painted black in an effort to conceal the fact it had been stolen.

A tip to Crimestoppers was “of significant benefit in identifying the suspects and recovering the trailer and tools,” McCanless said.

Gould and Taylor are expected to appear in Craighead County District Court on Wednesday for a probable cause hearing.
