Man shot during robbery dies of injuries

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Jonesboro man shot multiple times in the 100-block of Daybreak Drive earlier this month has died.

Police found 30-year-old George Banks suffering from “multiple gunshot wounds to the neck” early on the morning of Nov. 5.

Banks was taken to Regional One Health in Memphis in critical condition. He died Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Paul Holmes, public information specialist for the Jonesboro Police Department, said Banks’ body will be taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Little Rock for autopsy.

Kezanna Dixon, 18, Allen Miller, 18 and Jerome Puckett, 21, are currently facing charges related to the crime. No word, yet, on if charges will be upgraded to murder.  

Murder charges cannot be filed until the crime lab determines the exact cause of death.
