Man charged with child endangerment after breaking out car window

CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A domestic disturbance in Craighead County landed one man in jail on several charges including assault.

Craighead County Sheriff's Deputies were called to County Road 785 around 5:40 p.m. Sunday for a domestic disturbance call.

When deputies arrived, 20-year-old Jordan Lee Montgomery said he and his girlfriend had been fighting and it did not concern the police.

The woman told deputies that she had come to Montgomery's house to pick up her daughter after she fought with Montgomery.

She said that when she got there Montgomery ran into the back of her car with his vehicle in the driveway.

He then reportedly got out of the car and broke out the passenger-side front window with an unknown object.

Montgomery told the deputies "that he helped pay for the vehicle that [the victim] was driving and felt he had done no wrong by busting the passenger front window out," according to the incident report.

Another woman who had ridden with Montgomery's girlfriend to the scene told deputies she called for help after she got to the woman's child, but Montgomery took her phone and threw it across the yard.

Montgomery was arrested and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center.

He is charged with aggravated assault on a family or household member, endangering the welfare of a minor and interference with emergency communication.
