A Better Region 8 Guest Editorial: Court Appointed Special Advocates

Imagine a world where philanthropy could get more news coverage than the hustle and bustle of Black Friday and these shopping days leading up to Christmas. It's possible!

Especially here in Arkansas. We are all continually impressed by the countless people in our community who get more excited about making a difference than getting a discount.

Our entire team of Court Appointed Special Advocates are volunteers working for children in the foster care system that need a steady support system and a voice in court.

Our volunteers give of their time, and that's exactly what Giving Tuesday is all about!  This nationwide campaign, which will take place on December 1, 2015, is the perfect time to give to your favorite charity - give time or funds to an important cause and help raise awareness of an issue that you're passionate about.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Giving Tuesday became even bigger than Black Friday here in Arkansas?

I hope you will be inspired to give what you can this holiday season!  And, if you'd like to consider CASA for your donation of time or funds, please go to neacasa.org and click on Donate or Volunteer.

We thank you in advance for your giving! - Donna Lamb-Bowyer, Executive Director of CASA
