City begins search for new communications director

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The City of Jonesboro is looking for a new communications director.

On Monday, Fritz Gisler announced he was stepping down from the post he had held for less than a year.

Gisler, according to a news release, has accepted a position with the St. Bernard Project through AmeriCorps to continue post-Katrina rebuilding efforts in New Orleans.

On Tuesday, the city began accepting applications for the open position.

According to the job description, the ideal candidate will have a four-year college degree, plus two years related experience and/or training, and one to six months related management experience.

Applications will be accepted at the Human Resources Dept., 300 S. Church St., or on the city's website through the close of business Monday, Jan. 12.
