A-State Volleyball set to open NCAA Tournament

SEATTLE, WA (KAIT) - For the first time since 1999, the Arkansas State Red Wolves Volleyball team will open play in the NCAA Tournament.

A-State takes on Michigan State at 7:00 pm on Friday night in the opening round of the tournament. The Red Wolves and Spartans will do battle on the court at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle. Washington is hosting this group of bracket play.

The Red Wolves enter with the longest winning streak in the nation at 24 matches are 28-1 on the season overall and went 16-0 during Sun Belt Conference play. Arkansas State won the conference tournament at the end of November.

Michigan State brings a 18-13 season mark with a 10-10 record in Big 10 play. The two teams have never played each other in the sport of volleyball.
