Abused dog adopted by Region 8 woman

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A story that began with five dogs being found in horrible condition on a Jonesboro road has a happy ending for one animal.

The five dogs were found on Duncan Road in November. Three were in such bad health they had to be put down.

Bandit is one of those animals who escaped a bad situation and found himself at Jonesboro Animal Control.

But by Friday Bandit had gained some weight and was ready for adoption.

Roxie Edwards of Pocahontas saw the story about the dogs that was on Region 8 News Tuesday evening and just knew Bandit was supposed to come home to her.

“I felt really bad for it,” Edwards said. “I just can’t imagine anybody doing that to an animal, you know. And I love animals of all kinds, don’t matter what it is. So, I wanted it. I had room for it.”

Edwards took Bandit home to spend the holidays with his new family.

“I just fell in love with him when I first saw him,” she said.
