JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A 94-year-old Jonesboro man has become the victim of a telephone scam.
Police say the man was contacted Friday by a man named James Brown.

Brown claimed to work for Publishers Clearing House and convinced the man to send $900 to someone in Florida.
The older man was told he would receive a $1 million prize in exchange.
He wired the money, but became suspicious when Brown asked for more money.
JPD called Brown, but he hung up on officers, according to the incident report.

Police say there is no way of locating Brown because they do not believe that is his real name.
If anyone has information on this crime, contact Jonesboro Police.
