IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

The Izard County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a woman suspected of passing "multiple" counterfeit bills at area businesses.

In the last few weeks, according to a news release from Sheriff Tate Lawrence, merchants in Melbourne, Calico Rock and Horseshoe Bend received the funny money.

Lawrence said the $20 bills are “of poor quality with the same serial number.”

On Sunday, a woman passed “multiple $20 bills” to a cashier at a Calico Rock convenience store.

The store’s surveillance cameras photographed the woman at the counter. It also got a shot of the pickup truck she reportedly rode away in. Lawrence said a second person was driving.

If anyone can identify the woman or the truck, they should call Lt. Charles Melbourne at the sheriff’s office at (870) 368-4203.
