BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

Police are investigating after a man was found shot multiple times.

Capt. Scott Adams, Blytheville Police Criminal Investigation Division commander, states that around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday officers were called to the 200-block of East Davis Street to a report of someone being shot.

Officers found 39-year-old Michael Rodgers sitting on the front porch of a residence. Rodgers had a large cut to the top of his head as well as "multiple gunshot wounds to his torso," according to Adams.

Rodgers was taken to a Blytheville hospital where police say he was able to give a brief statement. He was then transferred to a Memphis hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call BPD at (870) 763-4411 or the hotline at (870) 762-2677.
