JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

When they heard gunshots in their neighborhood early Wednesday morning, a Jonesboro couple thought little of it. Then they found a slug in their children’s bathtub.

The victim told police she and her husband were asleep at 1 a.m. when they heard a “loud gunshot” near their home in the 3200-block of Parkwood.

She said they “talked about what they heard, then went back to sleep,” the initial incident report stated.

Later that day the woman said they discovered the window to their children’s bathroom had been shot out and a spent slug was in the tub.

That’s when they called police.

Officer Keith Baggett stated in his report it appeared the “medium-caliber” bullet came from the backyard or from an open area on Fairview.

Baggett searched the area, but was unable to find any spent shell casings.

He collected the slug and logged it into evidence.

At this time, there are no suspects.
