French Cherry Dessert

Crust

3. T powdered sugar
1/2 C sifted all purpose flour
1/2 C cornflake crumbs
1/2 C margarine

Combine ingredients and press into a 8x8x2" pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.  While this is baking, make the filling.

Filling

Mix together the following ingredients:

2 eggs
1 C sugar
1 t. vanilla

Combine these ingredients and add to above mixture, beating at low speed:

1/4 C all purpose flour
1/2 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt

Mix and fold in above mixture:

1/2 C chopped nuts
1/2 C shredded coconut
1/2 C maraschino cherries

Spread mixture over crust.  Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.

Optional:  decorate with maraschino cherries and drizzle with melted chocolate.
