Henry, Tretola Named AP All-Americans

FAYETTEVILLE, AR (arkansasrazorbacks.com) – After capturing multiple honors last week, Arkansas junior tight end Hunter Henry was named to the Associated Press (AP) All-America first team while senior offensive lineman Sebastian Tretola earned a spot on the second team, the AP announced Sunday.

The 2015 John Mackey Award winner, Henry becomes the 21st player in school history to earn AP All-America first team status and the first to earn the honor as a tight end. Henry was also named first team by both the Walter Camp Foundation and SEC last week. The Little Rock, Arkansas product finished the season as the Razorbacks’ second leading receiver, and his 46 receptions are the most of any SEC tight end. In addition, his 647 receiving yards, 32 first down catches and 19 plays of 15-plus yards lead all FBS tight ends.

Tretola started all 12 games at left guard this season and has made 23 consecutive starts at the position. He graded out at more than 80 percent in 10 of 12 contests this season and led the team with an 84 percent overall grade. The San Bernardino, Calif. native played in all 834 snaps that the first team offense took in the regular season and led the team with 68 knockdowns and was flagged for just one penalty. Tretola has allowed just one half-sack in his career, helping the Razorbacks lead the SEC in the fewest sacks allowed each of his two seasons. He was also named a first team All-SEC performer as well as a co-recipient of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy.

With the duo’s selection, Arkansas now has a total of 38 AP selections among 34 different players in its history. It is the first time multiple Razorbacks have earned All-America status in the same season since 2007.
