BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - More jobs and more room are in store for a Batesville business.
On Monday, Bad Boy Mowers announced the investment of $7.8 million in a 68,000 square-foot property and 10 acres across from its existing almost 1 million square-foot, 29 acre facility, according to a news release from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.
New jobs, 160 of them, are slated for the future to bring the total employment for the company to about 750.
AEDC states the reason for the expansion comes from an increased demand for the company's zero turn products, vehicle accessories and rotary cutter products from sister company, Bad Boy Cutters.
"Bad Boy is excited about our continued growth, and our ability to continue adding good-paying jobs to our area. We are very proud of our partnership with the state of Arkansas, as well as our local community, and look forward to continued growth and success," Bad Boy owner Phil Pulley said as part of the release.
This is the third expansion announcement in as many years for the company that started with 25 employees in 2002.
