BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

Blytheville police are investigating two separate aggravated robbery cases that happened over the weekend.

Officers were dispatched to South Ruddle Street around 2:26 p.m. Sunday for a report of an aggravated robbery.

Officers talked to a man and a juvenile who said they had just left Family Dollar on East Main Street when two, tall black men wearing masks robbed them at gunpoint behind the store, according to Captain Scott Adams with the Blytheville Police Department.

Both victims gave their wallets to the suspects who then ran away.

There was approximately $51 combined cash in the wallets.

Later that day, around 9:35 p.m., officers responded to the Town and County Gas Station at 625 East Main Street in reference to a separate aggravated robbery.

An employee told police that his back was turned when he heard someone come into the store.

When he turned around, he said he saw a black man holding a gun.

According to Adams, the employee said the suspect was wearing black clothing and had a mask over his face.

The suspect reportedly demanded money and threatened to kill the complainant and another employee.

Once the man got the money, he ran away from the store in an unknown direction.

Blytheville police have not said whether these two cases are related.

The news release also did not name any suspects in either case.

If you have any information about these robberies, contact the Blytheville Police Department at 870-763-4411.
