STEELE, MO (KAIT) - Steele police want to know who phoned in a school shooter threat.
Chief Billy Joe Stanfield tells Region 8 News a South Pemiscot School District official reported Tuesday morning receiving a phone call regarding a "shooter" on school campus.
Stanfield and his officers, along with Pemiscot County sheriff's deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers quickly responded and secured the campus.
Officers inspected the buildings and all of the classrooms as a precautionary measure.
Stanfield said "at no time were any students or faculty members in danger."
Police and deputies are currently investigating the source of the initial call.
