A-State professor says thief needs prayer

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - An Arkansas State University professor says the person who broke into her home needs prayer.

On Monday, Dec. 14, Dr. Mary Jackson Pitts received a phone call from her husband saying, "Someone broke into our house through the back door."

Their daughter, according to the Jonesboro police report, arrived at their home in the 1000-block of Neville Drive to find someone had come in and stolen an iPad and a laptop belonging to A-State.

The crooks also ripped open and snatched several Christmas presents, including a pair of Beats headphones.

The intrusion left Pitts shook up.

But, she collected her thoughts and through the process came to terms with what she thought about the thief.

"They need someone to pray for them to get them beyond this phase of life," Pitts said. "They're in a bad place."

That said, she hopes whoever did this will be arrested.

She encourages anyone who leaves town to hide valuables in a place a thief usually would not look to find them.
