Former prison chaplain charged with 50 counts of sexual assault

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Kenneth Dewitt, a former chaplain for the Arkansas Department of Correction, has been charged with 50 counts of sexual assault in the third degree, according to Henry Boyce, Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney.

Dewitt, 67, of Woodruff County is alleged to have committed these crimes between January 2013 and September 2014.

Dewitt was a chaplain at the McPherson women's unit in Newport when he is alleged to have had sexual contact with three inmates.
