Police chief: Shooting victim shot with own gun

MARMADUKE, AR (KAIT) - Marmaduke police and Greene County sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting in Marmaduke.

The shooting was reported shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday.

Marmaduke Police Chief Steve Franks told Region 8 News it happened in the 700-block of North 4th Street. He said they found a man lying in the backyard with one gunshot wound.

According to Franks, the man was approached by two men wearing masks.

One of the men took the victim's sidearm he had on him and shot the victim with his own gun.

The man sustained non-life threatening injuries, Franks said. He was taken to a Paragould hospital and should be released soon.

No arrests have been made in the case thus far.
