LEPANTO, AR (KAIT) -

A Lepanto woman was arrested after police say they found her in possession of drugs and a gun.

Officer Vance Evans with the Lepanto Police Department responded to Didemma Street Tuesday for an intoxicated man.

When he arrived, he notice a woman, identified as 23-year-old Kristin Briddle, walking away from the man. Officer Evans stated in the report that she was carrying a large purse and seemed in a hurry to leave.

According to the incident report, the man started yelling that Briddle had drugs in her purse.

Officer Evans asked if she had anything illegal with her and she answered no.

He then asked for permission to search Briddle’s purse.

“She handed me her purse and said sure,” Evans wrote in the report.

He found a .32 caliber pistol, a small amount of marijuana and about 2.5 grams of meth in the purse.

A bond was set for Briddle at $25,000.
