Rivercrest students help furry friends in need

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Students at Rivercrest Elementary School visited the Jonesboro Family Pet Hospital Thursday to deliver donations they collected.

Fifth graders from Rivercrest donated over 300 towels, blankets and other items for the animals.

"We learn a lot about compassion for humans, but thorough this project, you know… we often forget the furry friends and so we've had a lot of learning experiences and I'm very proud of my students," teacher Eva Griffin said.

Griffin said this project has become a tradition for Rivercrest students.

They plan to continue adopting the pet hospital for Christmas each year.
