BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

A registered sex offender was arrested in Baxter County after failing to register when he moved.

On Dec. 8, Deputy Mike Holland with the Baxter County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint of a possible unregistered sex offender living in the county.

It was determined that Gary Dale Robertson, 46, had moved to Baxter County from Bald Knob.

He moved to the Buford Area, off of Highway 126, sometime around Nov. 9 and had not notified Bald Knob or Baxter County authorities.

According to Sheriff John Montgomery, investigators also determined that Robertson was evicted from that house around Nov. 29.

On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office was told by a concerned citizen that he was found at a house in Cotter.

Deputy Holland found Robertson at the house and took him into custody without incident.

He is charged with a felony for failure to register as a sex offender.

He is being held on a $15,000 bond pending his appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court on Jan. 7.
