JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Police arrested a Region 8 man for theft after they noticed his pockets "bulging with various items" from a local donation center.

According to Jonesboro police, Keith Mucherson, 24, of Jonesboro was found in the donation drop off location at Abilities Unlimited, 410 West Huntington, on Friday.

The report stated Mucherson claimed he had permission to be on the property.

Police then pointed out a sign to Mucherson that said “anyone caught removing items from the donation drop off area would be prosecuted,” the police report stated.

Mucherson them offered to let police search him.

Police removed several items belonging to Abilities Unlimited from his pockets.

An Abilities Unlimited employee was contacted and assured police Mucherson did not have permission to be on the property or take any items.

Mucherson was arrested and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center where he was charged with theft of property and criminal trespassing.

His court date is set for Monday, Dec. 21, at 1 p.m.
