JPD: Jeep stolen during test drive

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police are investigating after a couple took a vehicle for a test drive Friday and never returned to the dealership.

According to an incident report from JPD, officers responded to Kars Plus Inc., 5307 S. Stadium Blvd., around 3:30 p.m. in reference to a stolen vehicle.

A Kars Plus employee told police that a white man and woman came to the dealership Friday morning to test drive a gray 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Around 1 p.m., according to the incident report, the couple returned to ask about vehicle prices.

They then asked the employee if they could take the jeep to Auto Doctor for a mechanic to look at it. He gave them permission to get the car looked at.

The employee told police that the man called about 30 minutes later and said the mechanic was looking at the vehicle and they would be back soon.

After about an hour the Kars Plus employee called Auto Doctor to check on the jeep. An employee at Auto Doctor said the couple never came to the business.

The couple never returned with the vehicle.

Police were able to run the man's license plate number through dispatch and get a return for Christopher Silvey, 35, of Jonesboro.

The employee was able to confirm that was the man who test drove the jeep.

If you have any information about where Silvey may be or about this case, you are urged to contact the Jonesboro Police Department.
