JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Traffic in part of East Jonesboro was stopped after a train clipped part of a semi-truck.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department, a train was stalled on the tracks at the Nettleton Avenue and Highland Drive railroad crossing for hours overnight on Monday.

The train started moving again around 4:45 a.m.

According to a police report, the train conductor noticed something on the tracks and put the train into emergency mode, but could not avoid hitting the object.

Police believe a semi truck tried to turn east onto Highland Drive from Nettleton Avenue and hit a concrete barrier.

The truck then dragged the barrier on the tracks.

The train had minor damage from the collision. No injuries were reported.

Jonesboro E911 Director Jeff Presley says the eastbound lanes have been closed at Nettleton and Highland at the railroad crossing as crews clean up the area.
