Sheriff: stolen items found during woman's booking

IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

A Horseshoe Bend woman arrested on a warrant is facing another charge following a discovery at the jail.

Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence states Melanie Jordan O'Brien, 24, was arrested on Dec. 14 on a county warrant of contempt and a petition to revoke probation.

While being booked into the Izard County Jail, O'brien was found to have "articles reported as stolen" from the Horseshoe Bend area among her personal items, according to Tate.

The woman was additionally charged with theft of property. O'Brien is being held without bond and will be back in court on Jan. 25.

Charles Anthony Clements, 32, of Horseshoe Bend was identified as being associated with O'Brien was also arrested on Dec. 14.

He is being held on an investigative hold and a probation hold. Clements is in the Izard County Jail without bond.

Lawrence states O'Brien and Clements have had "frequent encounters with law enforcement."
