A Better Region 8: What's next for Red Wolves football?

The New Orleans French Quarter was filled with scarlet and black.  It was good to see so many viewers from Region 8 in the Big Easy this weekend.

Although the Red Wolves lost to Louisiana Tech, the game, the atmosphere, the city of New Orleans and the overall weekend all came together to make for a terrific experience.

At one point, a server in a restaurant said: "the folks from Arkansas State are so nice, polite and down to Earth."  My reply was, "you should live in Region 8, it's like that all the time."

Thank you to the Arkansas State Red Wolves Football team, the cheerleaders, the Sound of the Natural State, the school administrators, and the fans who made the trip for making the New Orleans Bowl so much fun. Everyone had a good time and showed the world our team spirit and what it means to live in Region 8.

So what's next for the Red Wolves Football program?  Saturday night's loss is behind the Red Wolves and now all eyes are on next season. The hunt is on for a new Offensive Coordinator.  Head Coach Blake Anderson starts his third year of a 5 year contract.  There's an exciting recruiting class and the team is poised to go to a whole new level.

I have a message for the folks at Louisiana Tech. Remember, you never know how things work out. There may be a chance for the two teams to meet again next year.  I certainly hope that happens.

Supporting the home team and shining a good light on our neighbors makes this A Better Region 8.
